Mumbai: Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd and ATC India Tower Corp. Pvt. Ltd, one of the country’s leading independent tower companies, said on Monday that they had signed a tower-sharing agreement.

Under the terms of the agreement, Reliance Jio will utilize the telecom tower infrastructure of ATC India to launch its services across the country.

ATC has a portfolio of 11,000 towers in India.

Reliance Jio, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd, already has agreements with Reliance Communications Ltd for sharing the latter’s inter-city and intra-city optic fibre infrastructure of nearly 120,000km and 500,000km respectively, and 45,000 towers.

Reliance Jio also has a comprehensive agreement with Bharti Airtel Ltd to share telecom infrastructure created by both parties.

It has also an agreement with Viom Networks for its 42,000 telecom towers.

Reliance Jio is the first telecom operator to hold a pan-India unified licence that authorizes the company to provide all telecommunication services other than satellite telephony.
